CONTEXT
Orange.jobs is a global recruitment platform dedicated to enhancing the applicant experience. We were engaged prior to the vendor selection process to ensure our input on the essential functionalities and provide recommendations for the platform's development. Our objective was to align candidates with the right roles, optimize platform performance, and improve the user experience to drive a higher volume of job applications.
MY CONTRIBUTION
Defining functionality: Identifying key features and interactions to meet user and business needs.
Scoping: Mapping the applicant journey to pinpoint critical focus areas.
Ideation and wireframing: Developing concepts and structuring information to align with user goals.
UX research: Reevaluating research, conducting benchmarking, and drawing inspiration from the best examples.
THE CHALLENGE
The primary goal was to deliver a unified, user-centered experience for job applicants who were struggling with disconnected touchpoints across platforms. We sought to provide a reference point that simplified and improved the application process. This was especially important to compete with platforms like LinkedIn, which had a higher application entry point.
Key objectives included:
Reducing drop-off rates in the application process,
Increasing acquisition of high-quality talent,
Pushing toward a globalized experience with the long-term goal of transitioning to a single ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
Key Actions and Process
SCOPING AND FOCUS DEFINITION
I created a comprehensive process map to visualize critical moments for applicants and identify high-priority pain points. Red markers highlighted points of highest importance for UX, helping the team focus efforts effectively.

Our scoping ensured alignment between business goals, technical feasibility, and user needs.
REEVALUATING RESEARCH
After analyzing the provided research and finding it outdated or irrelevant, I conducted a second benchmarking round using more accurate, contemporary examples. This yielded valuable insights and actionable ideas for improvement.

I conducted additional benchmarking and outlined the required design and functionality. By studying other products and their features, we identified best-in-class examples and harnessed similar technological solutions to achieve optimal results.
COLLABORATIVE SESSIONS
Working closely in an interdisciplinary team in sprint-based cycles and regular brainstorming sessions, we successfully delivered [specific output] within a tight timeline.
We applied the Double Diamond approach, using divergent, generative sessions to ensure that our thinking was not limited. This approach helped us to remain aligned with business objectives while fostering creativity and innovation to achieve the best possible outcome.
USER JOURNEYS
Mapping down steps to take in order to complete the task on the portal helped us to define the information architecture.
